Vacancy Description:
To act as second in line to the Warehouse Manager & oversee the effective & cost efficient running of the Warehouse Operation through good management of time, people and resource.
•Work to continually improve customer service levels; stock/pick accuracy, and general working practices, to ensure the most efficient running of the Warehouse at all times
•Manage the daily stock control and replenishment levels to the required KPI standards, conducting regular audits to monitor speed and efficiency of both the operation and individual staff
•Manage Daily Resource to cover Operational Requirements, including the Trade Counter, to include holidays, sick and general absence, and time keeping issues in conjunction with the Operations controller
•Direct the stock control team on daily requirements ensuring daily functions are completed and recorded, and ASW remains up dated and accurate
•Work on warehouse related projects as required by the Logistics Manager
•Lead and enforce compliance with Health & Safety and Company rules, regulations, policies and practices at all times, assuring fair and reasonable treatment of all staff, and ensuring basic H&S requirements such as Manual Handling awareness, and staff uniform/safety wear is maintained
•Investigate any inaccuracies/failures with stock, pick and pack, and act on findings accordingly
•Ensure acceptable performance standards are maintained by all staff and addressed where necessary, ensuring all paperwork is compliant with HR polices and procedures
•Encourage and develop a total quality culture actively promoting Mayflex both internally and externally
•Manage the operation to ensure accuracy of stock locations are consistently achieved within specified time constraints, including movement of goods-in within 24 hours of arrival and daily audits of accuracy/stock levels
•Maintain an awareness of the Afternoon Shift activity, where possible working with them to improve service and operational efficiency and covering holiday/absence where required
•Actively seek ways to eliminate damage and waste – the aim is to provide an accident free environment; maintain housekeeping to exceptional standards
•Maintain accurate records, and manage in line with business procedures and operational requirements booking of annual leave, sickness absence, performance management & capability, Grievance and Discipline issues, Recruitment and Selection and Temporary staff
•Train and develop team members to ensure capability standards are sufficient and personal development is achieved where required, including training and induction plans, in conjunction with the Operations Controller and additional coaching and developing where appropriate
