Business development:
> Ability to identify new business opportunities.
> Perform agreed number of prospecting calls.
> Ensure all existing customers and potential new customers are fully aware of the Business Unit and company service offer.
Other:
> Attend monthly team briefings
> Identify personal development needs
> Address all action points from meetings within the appropriate timescales
> Customer liaisons
> Supplier review meetings.
> Maintain log of all quotations
> Maintain log of all SOC’s
Business Improvement:
> Raise SOC’s for any issues that arise, ensure root cause is identified and preventive measures implemented
Operational
> Co-ordinate the import of sea, air and road shipments, customs clearance and delivery.
> Track the air/sea/road shipments during all the transport till final delivery.
> Negotiate the best service and price from suppliers and achieve maximum cost reduction to produce margin improvements.
> Ensure that all shipments are undertaken to meet customer expectation in terms of standard service, costs and time frames.
> Operate within the Company strategy and objectives within the Imports Business Unit
> Work with internal system
> Follow internal procedures
> Advise manager of any operational procedures that are to be reviewed in cases of failure of current procedures
> Ensure invoicing is carried out in accordance with business unit regulations, 3 days after clearance.
> Ensure all operational activities are compliant with H.M. Customs and Excise Regulations.
> Ensure we’ve got acceptance of our rates before proceeding with shipments.
> Quote prices to potential and existing customers, as and when required within agreed timescale and within Limits of Authority.
> Ensure quotations are provided in a timely manner.
> Ensure the deferment account is reconciled monthly.
> Examine internal performance documents relating to sales and gross margin to ensure accuracy.
> Keep customers updated of all key stages of shipments
Training and development:
> Identify personal training & development needs in order to successfully perform the duties of Imports Co-ordinator
> Meet appraisal objectives within the agreed timescales.
Health and Safety:
> Ensure no activity is undertaken which could cause a danger to others.
> Identify potential risks and advice these to Manager/Platform Supervisor in order to eliminate the potential danger.
Environmental
> To ensure that company resources (e.g. paper, energy) are conserved and re-cycled where appropriate.
> Where possible, highlight new methods of conserving the company’s resources.
